May this letter serve to introduce Chilufiya Safaa, a multi-talented, powerful, intelligent, generous woman with far-reaching wisdom. It has been my pleasure to be in a business relationship with this very gracious, beautiful woman. She has served on the Board of Wisdoms Bridge, an aftercare program for women returning from jail to community. Her parenting knowledge and expertise is obvious in her passion to hold in tension the family unit and the needs of its children in the African American community. The depth of her experience with the Oakland Unified School District, and her compassion for children is evident in her Wee Little People Preschool. I was very pleased to associate with Chilufiya in teaching providers, parents, and others in a January 2005, conference stressing service and social programs that integrate women as well as their children who are returning to their communities from jail.

I have personally seen evidence of the quality of her program in the Wee Little People setting weekly. The positive, loving expectations and support for these children and their parents is evident in all aspects of her program. To say that I am impressed does not describe my joy and appreciation for the program and for Chilufiya. This erudite, compassionate woman and her skills enrich Oakland and the surrounding community. I thank God for people like her.
